Editor keyboard shortcuts
Every key in the VideoBB editor. Play, split, mark in and out, cut a range, trim to the playhead, zoom, snap, undo and switch inspector tabs.
Press ? in the editor to see every shortcut. The keys below work whenever you are not typing in a text box. On a Mac, use Cmd wherever this page says Ctrl.
Playback and moving around

The arrow keys are the fastest way to find an exact cut point. Tap them while paused to step through the video one frame at a time.
Marking and cutting

| Q / W | Split and delete left or right: remove what is before or after the playhead in the selected clip (or the clip under the playhead) |
| C | Crop the clip on the player (Enter applies, Esc cancels) |

| Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V | Copy a clip, then paste it after the clip under the playhead, with its speed, filter, effects and other settings |

Cut out a section in five keys
- Move the playhead to where the unwanted part begins.
- Press I to set the In mark.
- Move the playhead to where it ends.
- Press O to set the Out mark.
- Press Shift+Delete. The section is gone and the gap closes.
Trim a clip to the playhead
Select a clip and put the playhead inside it. Press [ to remove everything before the playhead, or ] to remove everything after it.

You can also hold Ctrl and turn the mouse wheel over the timeline to zoom. Zoom in close for frame-accurate cuts, then press Shift+Z to see the whole edit again. Snapping makes clip edges, marks and markers line up as you drag, so small gaps do not creep in.
When a shortcut does nothing
- You are typing in a box. Click on the timeline first, then press the key.
- Some keys need a selected clip, such as X, [, ], Ctrl+D and 1 to 5.
- Cut range needs both an In mark and an Out mark.
New to the layout? Start with the editor overview. The watch page player has its own keys, listed in player settings and shortcuts. When you are done, save your edit as a new video.
