What tech viewers look for
Tech viewers want to see the product doing real work, with numbers they can compare. A review should say what you tested, how, and what you did not test. Say clearly if a brand sent you the device or paid for the video.
Screen recordings with readable text
Text is the hardest thing to keep sharp in compressed video. A menu that looks crisp on your monitor can blur once it is encoded at a lower quality. Our explainer on why video looks blurry after upload covers the causes.
Record at the size people will watch
Record the screen at 1080p or 1440p. On a 4K monitor, scale the interface to 150% or 200% before you record, so menus and code stay large. Zoom into small settings in the edit rather than hoping viewers can read them.
Keep code and terminals legible
Use a large font, a high-contrast theme and short lines. Leave each screen up long enough to read. Paste important commands into the description so nobody has to copy them from a frame.
Test the product like a buyer would
Use the device for the tasks your viewers care about, for long enough to find the annoyances. Show the same test for each product you compare, with the same settings, so the results are fair. If something failed, show it and say what you tried.

Small text breaks up at lower qualities. Record at 1080p or higher, enlarge the interface, and check the upload at the quality your viewers use.

Yes, you should. Mention it when the product first appears and repeat it under the video, along with any payment or affiliate link.
