Community guidelines: rules, strikes and appeals
What you can post on VideoBB, what is not allowed, how reports are reviewed by people, how strikes add up and how to appeal a decision.
Post your own work, or work you have the right to share, and treat people with respect. VideoBB is for everyone, so 18+ content is not allowed. Illegal content, copyright theft, harassment, spam, malware and dangerous stunts are removed too. A person reviews every report, and every decision can be appealed.
VideoBB hosts what people make. These rules let creators publish without being drowned out by spam, and let viewers trust what they find. They apply to videos, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, comments, channel pages and playlists.
What is welcome and what is not
Welcome
Your own work, and work you have permission to publish. Commentary, criticism, teaching, news and documentary, made so anyone can watch it.
Not allowed
18+ content of any kind. Illegal content and copyright infringement. Harassment and hate. Spam and deception. Malware and phishing. Dangerous acts shown in a way that invites people to copy them.
How it is enforced
A person reads every report. Automatic filters can only hold an item for review. Every action is written to an audit log that cannot be edited, and every action can be appealed.

Copyright and other people's work
Only upload films, shows, matches, music or clips when you hold the rights. Rights holders can ask us to remove a copy through the copyright and DMCA process. A valid notice removes the video and gives the channel one strike.
Full-length films and broadcasts
Some videos are allowed but cannot be listed. Moderators delist them: they still play by link and keep earning, but they leave feeds, search and channel pages. Delisting is not a strike. Read why a video can be watchable but not listed.
No 18+ content
VideoBB does not allow content that is only for adults. That means no nudity, no sexual content, no pornography and no graphic or gory violence. News and documentary can cover hard subjects, but must not show graphic images. Videos that break this rule are removed and count as a strike.
Spam, misleading titles and fake activity
Titles and thumbnails must match the video. Keyword stuffing, duplicate uploads, comment floods, link schemes and fake engagement are all spam. So is pretending to be someone else.
Display names
Every member chooses the display name shown on their channel, videos and comments before they can publish or comment. A display name cannot be a web address, domain, email address or phone number, and it cannot suggest you speak for VideoBB. If a channel name impersonates someone or advertises, report the channel and a moderator reviews it. See display names and channel addresses.

How strikes add up
18+ content, copyright, harassment and repeated spam each count as a strike. Three strikes within 90 days close the channel. Illegal content, malware and organised abuse end the account at once. The help article on strikes, suspensions and appeals walks through each step.
How to report something
Every video, comment and channel has a flag button. Press it, pick a reason and add a few details.
- Reports go to the moderation queue, where a person reviews them.
- You are not told the outcome, but content that breaks the rules disappears.
- Copyright owners should use the DMCA process rather than the flag button.

What gets reported
Live figures from the moderation queue for the last 90 days. Every one of these reports was reviewed by a person.
Appeals
If you think a moderator got it wrong, you can appeal. A different moderator looks at the decision again, and you get a written answer.
Rules for comments
Comments follow the same rules as videos. Only signed-in members can comment, and each comment may hold one link at most.
