How VideoBB handles your data
What VideoBB collects when you sign in, upload and watch, why it is kept, which cookies are used, what we never do with your data and how to delete it.
Effective date: 3 October 2026. VideoBB is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through our privacy contact form.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, display name and Google account identifier (sign-in is Google-only; there are no passwords), and the videos, comments, likes, follows and playlists you create.
- Playback data: hashed, short-lived playback session data (derived from your IP address and browser) used to measure genuine viewing and to detect artificial traffic; how much of a video was watched; and, for signed-in members, the position to resume from.
- Technical logs: request logs with IP address and user agent, kept for 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
- Connected apps: if you connect the VideoBB OpenAI plugin, it can read your video records and analytics and update video metadata or visibility when you ask. OAuth credentials are stored only as cryptographic hashes, and you can revoke the connection.
- Payments: viewer tips are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store card numbers. Premium is paid from creator earnings, recorded in your earnings ledger.
Why we use personal data
- Provide the service: create and secure accounts, host and play videos, save creator settings, maintain comments and playlists, and respond to support requests.
- Creator tools and analytics: process uploads, report video status, measure genuine views and watch time, and show creators how their videos perform.
- Connected apps: authenticate an account and perform only the read or update operation the user requests through a connected app.
- Safety and legal compliance: prevent fraud, artificial traffic, abuse and security incidents; enforce our terms; resolve disputes; and meet legal obligations.
- Payments: process viewer tips, creator earnings and Premium records.
Who receives personal data
We disclose only the data needed for the service to these recipient categories:
- Infrastructure providers that host the application, database, video files, content delivery and security services.
- Google for Google sign-in and Stripe for viewer-tip payment processing. VideoBB does not receive Google passwords or payment-card numbers.
- OpenAI when you connect the VideoBB plugin. OpenAI receives the tool results needed to answer your request, such as your VideoBB profile label, video metadata, processing state, owner-accessible links and analytics. OpenAI processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Professional advisers, authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users and the service, or establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal data or disclose it to advertising networks or data brokers.
How long some data is kept

The VideoBB OpenAI plugin
The plugin accesses your VideoBB account only after you authorize it. It can read your profile identifier and display information, your owned-video records and analytics, and it can update a selected video's title, description or visibility when you explicitly request that change. It cannot upload, edit, download or delete video files.
VideoBB stores only cryptographic hashes of the plugin's OAuth credentials. You can disconnect the plugin to revoke future access. Prompts and ChatGPT conversation history are handled by OpenAI rather than stored by VideoBB; VideoBB receives the specific tool calls needed to carry out your request and records ordinary security logs as described above.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks or trackers run on VideoBB pages or in the embedded player. Promoted placements are sold directly and chosen by the page's context, never by a profile of you.
- Referral links (
?ref=) set a first-party cookie holding only a channel handle for 30 days, so the creator who referred you can be credited if you sign up. - We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers.
- Embedded players on third-party sites record a view; they do not read cookies from the host page.

Your browser's local storage remembers player volume, the chosen quality and unfinished uploads.

Export or delete your data
You can export or delete your data from the account page, or ask us through the contact form.
Closing your account
Closing your account removes your videos immediately and deletes the files within 30 days.
Inactive videos that are not public
VideoBB is not a storage service. A private or unlisted video that nobody else has watched for 30 days is deleted, together with its files. The terms of service and the help article explain the rule and the warning you get first.
Children
VideoBB is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
