Channel settings explained
Every VideoBB channel setting, tab by tab. Basics, branding, links, layout, upload defaults and comment rules, with sizes and limits.
Your channel settings live in Studio › Channel, split into six tabs. Changes go live as soon as you press Save channel. A preview on the Basics tab shows how your header will look.

Each tab, step by step
Open your channel settings and work through the tabs below. You can save after each one.
Basics
Set your display name (2 to 50 characters). Once your channel has 100 views you can also change its address (3 to 40 letters and digits); until then the field is locked and shows your progress. Add a tagline of up to 120 characters. The About text shows in your channel's About section and is used as the channel's description in search. You can also set a location, a language and up to 15 keywords. Display names and channel addresses has the rules for both.
Branding
Upload a square avatar. It is saved as a 256 px WebP image. Upload a 4:1 banner, which is saved at 1920×480. The banner focus slider picks which part stays visible when the banner is cropped on narrow screens. The accent colour is used for your follow button and highlights.
Social profiles
Add your Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Kick, Discord, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Reddit, Snapchat, Pinterest, Patreon, GitHub, Spotify, SoundCloud or Telegram. Type your handle, like @yourname, or paste your profile link. Each field only accepts that platform's own site. The icons appear under your channel name, and search engines can see that the profiles belong to your channel.
Links
Add up to eight labelled links. They appear under your channel name, and the first one is shown as a button. Each link must start with http. There is also a field for your website and one for a business contact email.
Layout
- Featured video: plays at the top of your channel for everyone.
- Channel trailer: shown instead of the featured video to people who do not follow you yet.
- Sections: turn Featured video, Videos, Shorts, Playlists and About on or off, and drag them into order.
- Default sort for the Videos tab: newest first or most watched first.
- Videos per row on desktop: 3, 4 or 5.
Upload defaults
Category, license, tags, comment and embed switches and a description template for new videos. They are covered in setting defaults for every new upload.
Advanced
- A welcome message for new followers, up to 500 characters.
- Hide follower count, if you would rather not show it.
- Hold all new comments for my approval.
- Only accounts older than a day can comment.
- Blocked words: comments that contain them are held for review.
